Audio leaks of alleged Kanye rant about Taylor Swift

Just when we thought they had buried the hatchet.

If you thought we had finally moved on from the Kanye West-Taylor Swift MTV Video Music Awards fiasco, you were sadly mistaken.

Gawker has obtained profanity-laced audio of an alleged Kanye defending his infamous interruption of the pop star's speech, at a dinner with fellow musicians immediately following the 2009 awards show.

"I went back and rewrote my ( Run This Town verse) for two days," the audio says. "Because I wrote my verse in two days, Taylor Swift cannot beat Beyoncé."

The speaker goes on to rant that his mother died because of Hollywood and fame, and complain that Pink performed two songs at the VMAs while he wasn't asked to sing his hit Heartless.

Meanwhile, Taylor referenced the rapper on Twitter earlier this week while plugging her own VMA nominations.

"Two VMA nominations!!," she tweeted. "If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;) ."

Break out the popcorn and take a seat. This could get ugly.
