SELENA Gomez cut short an interview after being asked about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber's erratic behaviour.The singer, 21, looked uncomfortable as she was quizzed about what was going on in the star's head.
And just after the presenter finished his question, the video link to the Chicago show was cut off, leaving the interviewer with a baffled smile on his face.
It came after the former Disney girl hinted she dumped Bieber because of his huge ego.
Selena, who dated the Baby singer on and off for two years, confirmed their relationship is over for good despite being photographed with Bieber on July 4.
Selena told US presenter Ryan Seacrest: "No, I'm not (dating Justin any more). Yes, Iam am (single)."
She added: "I learned a lot. I learned that I should definitely keep it way more private next time.
"Honestly, egos turn me off big time. You are who you surround yourself with. I know that's such a cliché quote, but it's true. I've just witnessed it too much. I learned that I should definitely keep it way more private next time."
The brunette beauty also suggested she is fed up with being associated with her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend and told reporters that their Bieber-related questions seemed "very unnecessary to focus on". She said: "I distance myself as much as I can."
Meanwhile, she seemed to enjoy talking about her 21st birthday much more than answering Bieber questions.
Appearing on Jay Leno's show, she revealed her first legal drink was a shot of Jack Daniel's whisky before admitting she may have even had another few.
Looking stunning in a red leather and black dress, the singer said "I don't remember" when asked how many shots she had had.
She went on to say: "I'll have a birthday party this weekend but I had a dinner with my friends, the party's going to be kind of a gypsy theme, I'm excited."
And a Twitter picture from her birthday night proved the star had a good time - posing with her pals and a cake at Bagatelle restaurant in LA.
She tweeted: "Thank you to bagatellela for an amazing bday!!!! It's a birthday WEEK!"
