Justin Timberlake Bounces Back From 'Take Back The Night' Controversy To ...

Justin Timberlake brushed away the copyright controversy surrounding his latest single 'Take Back The Night' and was spotted getting to work on set of the accompanying music video in New York City yesterday.

The 'Mirrors' singer, who is currently on the Legends of the Summer tour with Jay-Z, looked focused as he strolled around the video set in NYC's Chinatown on Thursday afternoon to film the visuals for the third single to be lifted from his latest album 'The 20/20 Experience.'

Dressed rather smart in a monochrome shirt buttoned to the neck, black trousers and white pumps, Justin also showed off a slick and edgy new haircut gelled back and swept to the side. Standing on the streets of the city, Justin was seen performing a small solo dance segment which he no doubt used to show off his fancy footwork.

'Take Back The Night' sparked outrage this week with an anti-rape charity of the same name who blasted the singer for not checking if the name was already in use.

The foundation threatened legal action against Justin over the copyright issue, however, he released a statement insisting that he had no knowledge of the charity prior to recording to the song.

"Upon the release of my new single 'Take Back The Night', I was made aware of an organisation of the same name called The Take Back The Night Foundation. I wanted to take this opportunity to let all know that neither my song nor its lyrics have any association with the organisation," read Justin's statement published on Radar Online.

The main issue seems to be that Justin Timberlake's song clashes with some of Take Back the Night's principles.

"The lyrics are definitely very sexual and not at all clearly anti-sexual violence," said Kate Koestner. "'Use me,' for example, is not a great phrase for anyone affiliated with [this] organisation."

The 'Suit & Tie' hitmaker later vowed to support the charity and hoped that the situation which he described as a "coincidence" would raise awareness for the organisation.
