Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered:
Tickets might be hard to come by (particularly at a reasonable price), but if you can swing it, Miles Raymer suggests checking out Jay Z and Justin Timberlake at Soldier Field-particularly Timberlake, who's "built a solid reputation as a world-class pop performer . . . game to take real risks with his image and sound, and in the process [has] found fans in every corner of the cultural landscape."
Movies in the Park sets up show in Calumet Park for a screening of Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters.
Waiting For Lefty is currently in production at Oracle Theatre. "Clifford Odets's 1935 agitprop classic gets the revisionist treatment, and the results are gripping and surprisingly poignant. Director Matt Foss adopts the 'living newspaper' look of Depression-era theater but, in a radical departure from the script, removes any hope of success for the little guys," writes Zac Thompson.
